5 Ways to Unblock Your Heart Chakra!

Your heart chakra serves as your centre for love, compassion and forgiveness. When your heart chakra is activated, it allows you to attract more love and compassion into your life. But when your heart chakra is blocked, you may find it hard to feel empathy and experience negative emotions such as jealousy and loneliness.

What is your heart chakra?
Your heart chakra, otherwise known as “Anahata” in Sanskrit, is located in the centre of your chest just above your heart. This powerful chakra connects your three upper body chakras with your three lower body chakras, and controls the love energy in your body.
When your heart chakra is balanced, it strengthens your ability to give and receive love. But when it becomes blocked, you may struggle with self-love and compassion towards others.

Diffusing essential oils can be a great way to activate your chakras. When it comes to your heart chakra, you’ll want to use oils such as rose, sandalwood, lavender and jasmine. You can also wear aromatherapy jewellery, or create a roller blend to carry with you throughout the day.
Certain yoga poses can also help to open up your heart chakra. Try practicing poses such as upward facing dog, camel pose, cobra pose or a simple bridge to open your chest up towards the sky and activate your heart chakra.
Use positive affirmations
Balance your emotions and modify your behaviours by repeating positive affirmations as part of your daily routine.
