What is Lapis Lazuli?
Lapis Lazuli translates to “blue stone” in Latin and is sourced from several corners of the world including Afghanistan, Chile and Italy. This beautiful stone has a deep blue hue and can often be seen with flecks of gold and violet.
Known as “The Wisdom Stone”, Lapis Lazuli has a rich history and was one of the highest regarded stones in Ancient Egypt - used as jewellery for Pharaohs, Queens and Goddesses.
Buddhists also used this precious gem as a healing crystal to find inner peace, and several famous artists like Michelangelo ground it down into a powder for their work.
